I didn't think I would ever get around to make a blog on here. I have Tumblr and Facebook for more personal posts. I thought I would combine something that hit me hard. I've never met someone who was killed intentionally by another person. I'm still in a bit of shock. Sometime over a year, year and a half ago I worked on a music video for Christina Grimmie and Dove Cameron called "What a girl is". Both girls were down to earth and extremely appreciative. It was such a lovely day and a fun video to work on. Usually younger stars can take a bit more energy, but they were a breeze.
When I heard what happened yesterday I was extremely heartbroken. I didn't keep in contact with her after the shoot, but she definitely was one of those people that you meet that adds an extra spark to your day. Her smile was contagious. To hear such a cruel act was done to someone SO kind and talented really brought me into a funk. The gunman had absolutely no reason to open four rounds on her. My heart goes out to all of her family, friends, fans, and anyone that came into contact with her. I'm so mad that he took his own life after. I wish he was rotting in prison right now.
Working in the beauty industry teaches you to see the beauty in everything and everyone. This is the situation I can't find one beautiful or positive thing about. It' unfair. This industry can be very dangerous. Models and actress- to beauty teams, stalkers can happen to anyone. If you get a bad feeling about something or someone, trust your gut. No amount of pay is worth it. If it seems too good to be true, it is. Keep each other safe. If you see anything suspicious. SPEAK UP and don't be afraid to ask someone's advice on if a job sounds like a scam or it could be an unsafe situation. I've been in a few and it's not something to sweep under the rug.
Rest in peace, you beautiful angel.
